Traveling Home

We took off from our apartment in Independence with the car loaded to the max.

A short drive the first day to Omaha where we saw the Kanesville Tabernacle, Winter Quarters Trail Center and Winter Quarters Temple.

They were having a large gingerbread display for Christmas.

Next stop was Andre’ and Michelle’s in Denver for the weekend.  We went for a walk in the neighborhood to see the blowup Christmas decorations.

Andre’ was putting up Christmas lights for the first time in their new home.

Then Monday morning we were off to Odgen.

We took a short cut and climbed to 8051 feet.

The next day we stopped in Burley and found our niece Bryn for a quick hello.

We had some heavy fog in Eastern Oregon but no trouble driving.

Finally on day 6 of traveling we made it to Washington!  We crossed over the Columbia River east of Vancouver.

Saying Goodbye

We had a sweet last Sunday with our Kaw River Ward.  Lots of well wishes and hugs.

Dinner Out

We went to Chinese dinner with Sally and Larry from our ward.

Members from our Stake treated us to the Hallmark Christmas dinner and employee band concert.

The walk back to our car was beautiful with Christmas lights.

Bingham Wagner Mansion

The Bingham Wagner Mansion is decorated for Christmas this time of year.  We visited one sunny Saturday.

Thanksgiving

We had a thanksgiving feast with a family from the ward and all 8 missionaries serving in the ward.  They made pasole soup as a course to the meal and it was delicious !

Relief Society Thanksgiving

Every year Kaw River Ward has a Relief Society Thanksgiving dinner.  It was a feast!

Not a huge turnout, but still a wonderful evening.
